How Big is an Acre?
Real estate agents are always being asked about the price of houses
and interest rates – especially lately.
My most often asked question is how big is an acre?
I usually answer by saying visualize a football field. Remove about half of each end zone and you get one acre.
Why would you want to know this? So that you can separate yourself from your neighbors or know how big of house you can build on your land.
Houses come in all shapes and sizes, even houses of the same style can vary in size. According to bobvila.com, the average home in Colorado is 2,126 square feet. Generally, builders can build between 3 and 4 houses per acre.
Of course, this illustration is not to scale. This information is my personal opinion based on my experience.
